United Kingdom 2024

Richmond

The first stop on our trip was to Richmond, a part of London which is famous for Richmond Park and Kew Gardens. Richmond is part of London and is part of the District Line which goes directly into Westminster/London. During our stay we visited Strawberry Hill, Kew Gardens, Westminster Abbey, Temple Church, built by the Templars, The John Soanes Museum, The Charter House, as well as taking a boat ride into London from Kew Gardens.

Winchester

Step back into time to the Anglo-Saxon capital of a smaller England. This little town featured the famous Winchester Cathedral, a beautiful place which houses the remains of ancient Anglo-Saxon kings and a queen, as well as Jane Austen. Outside the cathedral, there was a very cute town with shops and restaurants in buildings that have seen centuries of history go by them.

Stourhead

We headed down to Stourhead which is a National Trust Property. Stourhead is known for its garden, which was incredible. We stayed right on the property in a cozy cottage.

Daytrips in the South

During our time in Stourhead we also took several day trips. The first to the Jurassic Cost, where beautiful rock formations take center stage. Corfe Castle, ruined during the civil war. Then we had a neolithic day seeing different sites such as a chalk white house, Avebury, and a long barrow. And finally, a trip to Bath.

Oxford and Hidcote Gardens

On our last leg of our trip we visited Oxford. Another historic city which consists of the university as well as the town that developed within the university. Oxford also is the home of the Ashmolean Museum. As a day trip outside of the city, we visited Hidcote Gardens.
